API Compliance Statement
Summary
Exactly what we do and do not do with the YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram APIs.
ContentMatch builds on the APIs of the platforms our members already use. This statement sets out exactly what we use them for.
Plain-English summary: we read public profile and content data so members can link their accounts and show their work. We do not automate engagement, we do not use bots, and we do not post on anyone's behalf.
1. Which APIs we integrate with
YouTube Data API.
TikTok APIs for login and display.
Instagram APIs for login and media display.
2. What we use them for
Account linking and verification. Confirming that a member controls the account they have connected.
Profile display. Showing that member's public display name, handle, avatar, and public counts on their ContentMatch profile.
Content display. Showing a member's own public posts so they can share them inside ContentMatch.
Read-only metrics. Showing a member or an advertiser the performance of content on ContentMatch itself.
3. What we never do
We do not automate likes, comments, follows, subscriptions, shares, or views.
We do not use bots, engagement pods, scrapers, headless browsers, or any automated means of interacting with a platform.
We do not post, upload, or delete content on a member's behalf.
We do not ask for or store platform passwords. We use each platform's official authorisation flow.
We do not sell data obtained from a platform's API.
We do not access private data that a member has not authorised.
We do not use platform data to build profiles of people who are not ContentMatch members.
4. How engagement works here
Engagement on ContentMatch is never automated and never purchased as an action.
What we pay for is honest written feedback — a member reviewing content and telling the creator what worked and what did not.
Where a member confirms engagement, they are recording support they have already given of their own accord. They can only do this for content they rated three stars or above. We do not require anyone to engage, and no platform action is ever performed by us or by software.
We review submissions, and rewards attached to submissions that were not genuine are removed.
5. Our commitments
We comply with the terms of service of every platform we integrate with.
We act on any instruction from a platform relating to a member or a feature that breaches their terms.
We remove content or material when a platform or a rights holder asks us to.
We keep this statement accurate, and we update it when our integrations change.
