Wallet, Credits and Refunds Policy
Summary
How coins work, how they are earned, how withdrawals are paid, and when you can get money back.
This policy explains the two separate money systems on ContentMatch, and what you can expect from each.
Plain-English summary: coins are earned, not bought, and one coin is worth one cent. Advertising budget is separate and bought in dollars. You can withdraw earned coins to PayPal once you have at least $5 confirmed, and every withdrawal is reviewed by a person before it is paid.
1. Two separate balances
ContentMatch has two balances, and they are not interchangeable.
Your coin balance is money you have earned by doing work on ContentMatch. You cannot buy coins.
Your ad budget wallet is money you have added in order to fund a campaign. It is held in US dollars, not coins, and it is never converted into coins or withdrawn as coins.
Keeping these separate is deliberate. It means the value of earned rewards never depends on anyone's ad spend.
2. How coins are earned
Coins are earned for genuine contributions, mainly written feedback, and for campaigns that fund engagement when a member records support they genuinely gave to content they rated three stars or above.
Nothing about earning is automated. Coins are only created after a real review or a real recorded action.
Some rewards are created as pending, then become confirmed after review.
3. Value of a coin
One coin is worth one US cent. One hundred coins equal one US dollar. This rate is fixed and is shown in your wallet.
4. Free coins
From time to time we may grant coins or ad credits as a promotion, such as a trial bonus. Promotional grants have no cash value beyond their normal use, are not withdrawable in isolation, and may be withdrawn or expire if the account is found to be abusing them.
5. Requesting a withdrawal
Withdrawals are paid to PayPal. At the time of writing, PayPal is the only payout method we support. We do not currently pay out by Stripe Connect, bank transfer, or any other route, and any earlier documentation that said otherwise was wrong.
You must have at least five US dollars in confirmed coins to request a withdrawal. Pending coins cannot be withdrawn.
You can only have one pending withdrawal request at a time.
When you request a withdrawal your confirmed balance is held against that request, so it cannot be spent or requested twice.
6. How withdrawals are reviewed and paid
Every withdrawal is reviewed manually by a member of the ContentMatch team before it is paid. This is a fraud and abuse control, not an automated process.
Because a person pays each withdrawal by hand, we do not promise a fixed processing time. A request may take some business days to be reviewed and paid. If a request is rejected, the held coins are returned to your confirmed balance and the reason is recorded on the request.
You are responsible for giving us a correct PayPal email address. Payments sent to an address you typed incorrectly may not be recoverable.
7. Taxes
You are responsible for any tax that applies to money you earn on ContentMatch. We do not withhold tax and we do not provide tax advice.
Depending on where you live and how much you earn, you may be required to report your earnings. If you are unsure, speak to a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
8. Refunds on ad budget
Because campaign budget is not spent when a campaign is created, but only as actions are actually verified, an unspent balance always remains available to you.
If a paid campaign finishes without delivering what it was set up to deliver, you choose what happens to the undelivered amount: extend the campaign, or refund it.
A refund can go to your ad budget wallet, immediately, or back to the original payment method through Stripe, which takes longer and depends on Stripe and your bank.
Only the undelivered portion is refundable. Actions that were already delivered and verified are not refundable, because the work has already been done and paid for.
Nothing in this section overrides any right you have under consumer law in your country, which may be stronger than what is described here.
9. Chargebacks and disputed payments
If you have a problem with a payment, contact us first at compliance@contentmatch.io. We would much rather fix it than dispute it.
If a payment is reversed through a chargeback that we believe to be unjustified, we may suspend the account while we look into it, and we may recover the amount from any balance held.
10. Accuracy of this policy
We describe what the product actually does. If we add a payout method, a verification requirement, or a tax reporting process in the future, we will update this page before that feature goes live, not after.
