Privacy Policy
Summary
What we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how to get it removed. We do not sell your data.
This policy explains what ContentMatch collects, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Plain-English summary: we collect what we need to run your account, we do not sell your data, and you can ask for a copy or ask us to delete it.
1. What we collect
Information you give us: your name, username, email address, password, the platforms you link, your content links, and your preferences and interests.
Information from platform integrations: only public profile details and content you authorise us to read, such as your display name, handle, avatar, and follower or post counts. We never receive your platform password.
Information created by using ContentMatch: your posts, feedback you write, engagements you confirm, messages, community membership, and coin or wallet activity.
Payment information: when you pay for something, our payment processor handles your card details. We receive a confirmation and the last few digits, not your full card number.
Technical information: IP address, device and browser type, and pages you visit.
2. Why we use it
To run your account and the service, to show you relevant creators and content, to verify that a linked account is yours, to process payments and payouts, to send you notifications you have asked for, to detect fraud and abuse, to review submissions, and to meet our legal obligations.
3. What we do not do
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not use bots or automation to interact with third-party platforms on your behalf.
We do not post to your social accounts.
We do not read private platform data that you have not authorised.
4. Sharing
We share data only where we need to in order to run ContentMatch:
Service providers who process data on our behalf, such as our hosting provider, our payment processor, our email provider, and our error and analytics tooling. They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
Platform APIs, only where you have connected an account and only for the purposes described in our API Compliance Statement.
Authorities, where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to prevent serious harm.
A buyer, if ContentMatch is ever sold or merged. You would be told, and this policy would continue to apply until a new one is issued.
5. How long we keep it
While your account is open, we keep your data so the service works.
If you close your account, your personal data is deleted after a short grace period, except where we must keep it.
Records connected to payments, payouts, and tax are kept for as long as the law requires, which is generally around seven years.
6. Your choices and rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to certain uses. You can also ask us to move your data to another service.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have these rights under the GDPR. If you are in California, you have equivalent rights under the CCPA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell personal data, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front, but you may still ask us to limit sharing.
To make a request, email privacy@contentmatch.io. We aim to respond within 30 days.
You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to keep ContentMatch secure. We use optional cookies for analytics and, where you allow it, for marketing. See our Cookie Policy for the detail.
8. Children
ContentMatch is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
9. International transfers
ContentMatch is operated from the United States. If you use the service from elsewhere, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where we transfer personal data out of the European Economic Area or the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
10. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, so we also limit how much data we hold in the first place.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make a significant change, we will tell you in the app. The date at the top of this page always shows the current version.
